Whle checking out the news a few weeks back, I came across an obituary of Doug Fieger, lead singer of the band The Knack. The piece listed the song “My Sharona”. I youtubed it and it turned out to be a song I was searching for a long time. I recognized the guitars as soon as the song started playing. The song is about a girl named Sharona.
I got curious after listening to the song (to be honest, being a desi I couldn’t resist the album jacket ). I dig aroud a bit and it turned out that Sharona of the song is actually Sharona Alperin, then 17 years old girlfriend of Fieger. She now works as a real estate agent in Los Angeles, CA. She must be something special to inspire such a great song!
